Poo Squad Hutchinson picks up dog poop in Lindsborg, KS. Your local Poo Squad crew drives up from the Hutchinson area and scoops yards across Little Sweden. We offer weekly and every other week visits, plus one-time cleanups when the yard has gotten away from you.
You know the drill. You step out back with your coffee, and there it is. Another landmine. In Lindsborg, your dog probably already gets plenty of fresh air on the Välkommen Trail or at the dog park. The yard is where the mess piles up. That part's our job.
Where Lindsborg Dogs Burn Off Energy
Lindsborg is small, but it's a great town for a dog. Here are the spots we hear about most.
- Scentral Bark Dog Park. The city's dog park sits at 401 East McPherson. It's fenced, with separate areas for small and large dogs, plus benches, trees, a water fountain and waste stations.
- Välkommen Trail. A 4.5-mile all-weather path built on old Missouri Pacific and Union Pacific rail beds. It winds right through town and it's open year round. Morning walk, sorted.
- Swensson Park. On the 500 block of North Main, with a shelter house, fish pond, gazebo, band shell and the Viking Valley playground. Lots of people. Keep the leash short and the bags handy.
- The Old Mill grounds. The 1898 Smoky Valley Roller Mills, now the Lindsborg Old Mill and Swedish Heritage Museum, has a campground, and the Välkommen Trail runs right past it.
The town's parks list also includes Coronado Heights, Riverside Park, Lucia Park, Carlson Memorial Park and the Meadowlark Trail. Plenty of room to roam. Then everybody comes home and does their business in your grass.
Lindsborg's Dog Rules, in Plain English
The big one in Lindsborg is the dog license. Here's how the city lays it out on its dog licensing page:
- Every license needs proof of a current rabies vaccination.
- Licenses run on the calendar year and are due the first of each year. So January means a new tag.
- It's $25 for a dog that isn't spayed or neutered, and $5 if it is.
- Microchipped dogs can get a one-time license for $35. A lost or replacement tag is $5.
Questions go to City Hall at 785-227-3355. If a loose or problem animal is bugging you, the city also has an online animal control form for reports.
We didn't find a pet waste cleanup rule posted on the city's website, so check with City Hall before you assume anything. Either way, the neighborly move is simple. Pick it up. If you're curious how other places handle it, our guide to dog poop laws by state covers the basics.
Where Your Lindsborg Dog Poop Actually Goes
Lindsborg's trash runs through the McPherson Area Solid Waste Utility. Residential polycarts go out on Mondays, at the curb by 6 a.m. (holiday Mondays shift to the next day). All trash has to fit inside the cart, and carts max out at 60 pounds.
One detail trips people up. The city says yard waste isn't allowed in polycarts. So dog poop isn't something to toss on a brush pile either. Bag it and treat it as trash. Our post on how to dispose of dog poop walks through the safe ways to do it.
When your local Poo Squad crew scoops your yard, we bag it up and take it with us. No smelly cart waiting on Monday morning. No bag baking in the garage.

Festival Weekends and Your Lindsborg Yard
Lindsborg loves a party. Two Swedish heritage festivals anchor the calendar.
- Midsummer's Festival lands in June. A free late-night swim at the Lindsborg Municipal Pool has been part of Midsummer's weekend for many years.
- Svensk Hyllningsfest happens every other October, in odd-numbered years. It started in 1941 to honor the Swedish immigrants who settled the Smoky Valley in 1869. Expect folk dancing, crafts, a parade and a smörgåsbord.
Hosting family for either one? Nobody wants Aunt Karin stepping in something on the way to the patio. A one-time dog poop cleanup before the guests roll in takes that worry off the list.
Pet places around town
A few local names Lindsborg dog owners know well: Lindsborg Veterinary Medical Hospital at Hwy 4 and Coronado Ave, Smoky Valley Dog Center on Svensk Rd for boarding and grooming, and Lazy D Kennel on 13th Ave (Burma Rd). They keep your dog healthy and cared for. We just handle what comes out the other end.
Why Lindsborg Yards Need More Than a Spring Scoop
Here's the honest truth. Dog poop doesn't feed your lawn. It burns it, draws flies and hangs around a lot longer than you'd think. Our breakdown on whether dog poop is good for grass explains why.
Winter makes it worse. Piles freeze, get buried and sit there. Then the first warm weeks show you everything at once. January through March is our busiest stretch for exactly that reason. Regular visits keep it from ever getting that far.
