What happens on a visit

A visit starts at the gate. Our technician checks that it is closed behind them, then works the yard in a set pattern rather than wandering, so no corner gets skipped: along the fence line first, then across the open grass in passes, then the spots dogs actually favor, like the shade under a deck or the strip behind the shed. Everything we find is bagged, and in every market except Bridgewater, NJ it leaves with us rather than going into your trash can.

Before we leave, the gate gets checked again, and then a third time. You get a photo of the closed and latched gate, so you know your dog is safe to let back out. If something looks off, such as a broken latch or a gap under the fence, we tell you rather than assume you already know.

How often should the yard be done?

Weekly is what most homes choose, and for good reason. Seven days of waste is a manageable amount to remove completely, it rarely has time to break down into the grass, and the smell never builds to the point where you notice it from the patio. Twice weekly suits homes with several dogs, puppies, or small yards where a few days of waste covers a lot of the usable space. Every other week can work for one small dog and a large yard, and we will tell you honestly if we think it will leave you with a yard you are not happy with.

Do I need to be home?

No. Most of our customers are at work when we come, and that is the point of the service. We need access to the yard and a clear answer on your dogs: whether they will be out during the visit, and whether anyone in the yard makes them nervous. Many dogs are perfectly happy to supervise. Some are better inside for the fifteen minutes we are there, and that is completely fine.

Weather and the seasons

We work through rain and cold whenever it is safe to. Snow is the exception, because waste under fresh snow cannot be found reliably, and we would rather come back when the yard can actually be cleaned than charge you for a pass that misses half of it. Spring is when a skipped winter shows up all at once, which is a good time to start or restart service.

Where the waste goes

In every market except Bridgewater, NJ it leaves with us, bagged, and is disposed of properly. In Bridgewater, the bagged waste goes in your trash bin. We sanitize our tools and boots between every yard, so nothing we pick up at one house travels to the next. Parvovirus and parasites spread exactly that way, which is why a professional service is safer than a borrowed rake.

Getting started

Find your local Poo Squad, tell us how many dogs you have and roughly when the yard was last cleaned, and your local team will put a real price in front of you. If the yard has had a while to build up, the first visit is a deeper cleanup, and weekly service picks up from there.
