Poo Squad Manhattan serves Wamego, KS. Our local crew is based in the Manhattan area and comes to Wamego yards for weekly dog poop removal, one time cleanups, yard deodorizing, commercial pet waste removal and event pooper scooper services. We're locally owned by Nolan and Laura Henderson.
You know how it goes. You let the dog out. You promise yourself you'll scoop on Saturday. Then Saturday turns into OZtoberFest, and the backyard turns into a minefield. We get it. Scooping is literally our job. If you've been hunting for a pooper scooper service from Manhattan, KS that actually comes out to Wamego, you found it.
Wamego Has a 15 Foot Toto. Your Yard Has a Dog Too.
Wamego might be the most dog proud town in Kansas. Downtown now has a 15 foot, 1,200 pound statue of Toto. It was unveiled at OZtoberFest in 2026 as the world's tallest Toto statue. And every fall, locals bring their own dogs to the Downtown Entertainment Stage for the Toto look alike contest.
Toto gets the spotlight. Your dog gets the backyard. And what your dog leaves back there doesn't disappear on its own, no matter how much rain rolls through. (Here's the honest answer on whether dog poop washes away in the rain.)
Where Wamego Dogs Walk, Sniff and Play
Lots of Wamego dog walks start at Wamego City Park on 4th Street, two blocks east of downtown. It's home to the Schonhoff Dutch Mill, a stone windmill built in 1879 on a farm 12 miles north of town. In 1924 it was taken apart, every stone was numbered, and 35 horse drawn wagons hauled it into town. Today it's on the National Register of Historic Places. Your dog will mostly care about the squirrels.
Want more miles? The Wamego Recreation Complex sits at Highway 24 and Balderson Blvd. It's a 37 acre site with ball diamonds, soccer fields and tennis courts, plus a paved 0.88 mile walking trail circling the park. That loop makes a great leashed lap on a cool evening. The open space is also where folks gather for the 4th of July fireworks. (Fireworks night is rough on dogs. Here's how to calm a dog during fireworks.)
The city also lists Pennyland Park, Railroad Park, Morton Park and Riverfront Park among its parks. Whichever one is your regular, bring bags. The family at the next picnic table will thank you.
Wamego's Pet Rules, in Plain English
Wamego's animal rules live in Chapter II of the city code, "Animal Control and Regulation." The city's pets page sums up the parts dog owners bump into most:
- No running at large. Your dog needs to be on a leash, on a tether or inside a completely fenced yard. A dog roaming loose counts as a violation.
- License every year. All dogs need a city license each year. Tags are free during January. Starting in February, they cost $10. Bring a current rabies certificate to the City Office.
- Two pet limit. You can keep up to two dogs and cats (combined) over three months old. More than that takes a properly zoned kennel and a special use permit.
- No breed ban. The city doesn't ban dogs by breed.

What Wamego's Two Pet Limit Means for Your Price
Here's a fun side effect of that two pet limit. Most Wamego households fit right into our one or two dog pricing. Weekly dog poop removal from our pooper scooper service runs:
- 1 dog: $14 per visit, or $60.67 per month
- 2 dogs: $16 per visit, or $69.34 per month
No guessing, no haggling. Just a clean yard every week, without you ever touching a bag.
Not sure how often your yard really needs it? With one or two dogs in a Wamego backyard, the piles add up faster than most people think. Here's our take on how often to pick up dog poop in your yard, plus why waiting it out rarely works.

Winter Hides It. Spring in Wamego Shows You Everything.
Kansas winters are sneaky. Snow covers the yard. Nobody wants to scoop in the cold. The piles quietly stack up under there. Then the first warm week hits and the whole season shows up at once. Sound familiar?
That's what our one time cleanup is for. We clear the backlog in one visit. Then you decide if weekly service makes sense. Add yard deodorizing if the smell hangs around the patio. And no, all that poop isn't secretly feeding your lawn. Dog poop isn't good for grass, whatever Grandpa told you.
Festivals, Ball Fields and Busy Wamego Weekends
Wamego knows how to throw a party. Downtown fills up for OZtoberFest each October, and the Rec Complex is home base for the city's summer ball program. Planning a dog friendly gathering, an adoption day or anything where four legged guests show up? Our event pooper scooper services keep the grass clean so people can enjoy the day.
Own a rental, a clinic or a business with a pet relief area in town? Our commercial pet waste removal has you covered too. A clean entrance says a lot about a business. So does a messy one.
